The sacred Adhara Pana Ritual, one of the most significant concluding ceremonies of the world-famous Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026, was performed with great devotion in Puri. Thousands of devotees gathered near the three majestic chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra to witness this unique ritual.

During the ceremony, a special sweet drink known as Adhara Pana was offered to the deities in large earthen pots placed on their chariots. According to ancient tradition, after the offering, the pots were ceremonially broken. It is believed that the divine drink is accepted by guardian deities and spiritual beings who protect the Rath Yatra, symbolizing gratitude and spiritual completion of the festival.

The ritual marks one of the final events before the deities return to the sanctum of the Jagannath Temple during Niladri Bije, bringing the annual Rath Yatra celebrations to a close.Lakhs of pilgrims from across India and abroad visited Puri to witness this sacred ceremony, while the Odisha administration made extensive security and traffic arrangements to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.
